Woody Winfree

This luncheon and workshop will offer real-life solutions that will inspire participants to recognize their unique beauty and celebrated it. The program mixes humor and seriousness to expose the perpetuation of damaging myths that affect our self-esteem. It then offers tools for building a more confident, solid base from which to explore each individual's purpose and value.

Topics Include:

  • How today's standard of beauty diminishes our potential
  • How and why the media fuels the fire
  • Shattering the beauty myth
  • Changing ourselves, changing our culture
  • The celebration of true beauty

Featuring video commentary from Meredith Vieira, Gloria Steinem, Naomi Wolf, Geraldine Ferraro and more.

Admission: $35

$10 of each admission fee will be applied toward scholarships to the Women's Center Challenge Program for women age 35 and over who are separated, widowed or divorced and who need training to re-enter the workforce.

THE WISE WOMAN SERIES was established to help build scholarship resources for the women served by the FCCJ Rosanne R. Hartwell Women's Center. Scholarships remove the major financial barrier to higher education, enabling deserving women to become more independent, productive and economically secure. With you as a partner, the Women's Center can continue to bring positive change to the lives of local women and fulfill our mission to build a better community.
